Thanks to a few scattered ideas in my brain, I started looking around last week at some bookmarked sites related to broadcasting history. Maybe it would be nice to share them with you. Be forewarned: If you have an interest in this stuff that's anywhere close to mine, go on and kiss the rest of the day goodbye right now.
First, here's Jeff Miller's impressive page of information, with links to all kinds of archived material. (No airchecks, alas, but the textual stuff is well worth the visit.) I re-found this site the other day while looking for something else, and ended up burning up a couple hours reading some of the articles on Jeff's site. Highly recommended.
Then there's Elizabeth McLeod's site. She's an accomplished author and researcher with an encyclopedic knowledge of the history of American radio. The only way I can think of to describe what she does is that it's what, in an ideal world, I'd really wanted to do as a profession...and still would love to, when we finally achieve the happiness that is a winning lottery ticket.
